The Organic Architecture of John Lautner and Helena Arahuete
John Lautner, in collaboration with architect Helena Arahuete, created the Marbrisa, also known as the Arango House, in Acapulco, Mexico, for supermarket magnate, Jeronimo Arango. Inspired greatly by Frank Lloyd Wright, Lautner and Arahuete use modernist design to create 25,000 sq. ft of original and organic architecture.
“The main living quarters are surmounted by a large open terrace with spectacular views of the beach and bay...[with] the terrace itself topped by a huge, sweeping semi-circular angled shade made of poured concrete. The design was inspired by the sense of space ocean and sky. “ - Alan Hess
