Symetrics in Johnston Marklee’s Chile House
Duo Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee are decorated architects who enjoy playing with convention by abstracting scale and type in their projects. The two designers engage in the history of architecture to create fresh and exciting constructions.
Situated on a hill in the forest, this singular white bunker is a masterfully built piece. The Chile House has identically shaped main rooms which are connected at a single point. Their symmetry is functional, as one creates a terrace, open to the sky, and the other a view of the Chilean coast, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
